The $150,000 Clarendon S. at Woodbine was a tour de force for Hill ‘N’ Dale breds. First time starters SENSATIONAL SLAM and Naval Attack ran 1st and 2nd in the highly competitive 12 horse field. SENSATIONAL SLAM is by GRAND SLAM out of ROMAN ROMANCE. He was sold at the 2009 Keeneland September Yearling Sale for $80,000. Hill ‘N’ Dale Canada retained a 25% interest in the handsome colt and Nick de Meric resold him as a 2 year-old in training for $240,000 to trainer Todd Pletcher and owner Bobby Flay.
SENSATIONAL SLAM has a very attractive yearling half brother (by THEATRICAL) that Hill ‘N’ Dale will sell at Keeneland September. Naval Attack has a ½ sister by SEEKING THE BEST that sells as Hip #122 in the C.T.H.S. September Selected Yearling Sale.

For comparisons sake you can scroll down and see how the 2010 foal weights compared with the previous year. It should be noted that we do our weights via a “weight tape”. In our estimation the taping is usually about 3-5% below the actual weights.
We weigh our foals daily for the first 30 days and then monthly until they are sold (usually as yearlings). Even if the actual recorded birth weight is slightly less than it should be we can monitor weight gain effectively. The weights recorded below are the “taped weights” and have not been adjusted.
